Beginnings are beautiful.
In the Beginning, Hashem used words to create the cosmos. Not “thoughts” or even “will” but words, as it states “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light…” (Genesis 1:3). It is my hope that the words I give to you bring YOU light, creativity, happiness, and fulfillment!
1. Why this, why now
Baruch Hashem, I am a Rabbi and a psychiatric healer but way before that, I was just a kid who loved great stories. I used to spend hours making up stories that I would share with my beloved siblings.
As I grew up, I denied my identity as a writer and never felt comfortable telling people that one of my dreams was to be paid to write and do what I love. In other words, what if others don’t love what I write? What if my writing doesn’t matter to anyone or make anyone else’s life better?
But NOW IS THE TIME to stop letting fear hold me back. As the Lubavitcher Rebbe taught me, if even ONE PERSON is helped/inspired/laughs/is moved by something I write here, that is enough and that might be the purpose of my creation.
So here we go.
2. What kind of community am I looking to build here
Baruch Hashem, I am looking to build a community of people who want to be authentically themselves, who appreciate Torah inspiration, who want more laughter in their lives, and who feel that being creative is a path to serving the Creator!
3. Be specific
I plan to post a monthly newsletter with stories, links to funny comedy videos, Torah inspiration, current events & news to ponder, and wacky, zany, trendy things I see each month that pique the curiosity of this proud, Chassidic-American, millennial rabbi. Free subscribers can access some of this for one week but PAID SUBSCRIBERS get:
full access to the entire newsletter
private invites to online networking & entertainment events
annual IN-PERSON invite to a FREE “The Rabbi’s Pick” 4-course dinner for the subscriber + 1 guest
access to a private community and networking opportunity to help us all grow richer in our physical, spiritual, and creative lives!
I want to hear YOUR suggestions of what more I can give to the PAID SUBSCRIBERS to make it worthwhile and valuable!
